Think you can turn the noise on and off with a diagnostic tool as part of car config.

i have a single beep on lock....you can also have a double beep on unlock, all courtesy of the gap iidtool... ... - .- -.

If you have a look at the BCU options page I posted at the link below you can see some of the options that are available. This is from a 2006 model with the GM3V4 and V10 BCU but I would imagine similar for yours
