I had a 2005 X5, only a diesel. I disliked the gearbox, suffered with'Lurch' well documented issue with the 6 speed box. The Ride on my Sport was a little firm for those longer journeys, sport seats not that comfy. Other than that if it comes fully loaded, nice but imo not great.

The earlier box was a 5 speed. They had their own issues, with longevity similar to the FFRRBMW ones i guess. Ian

I've owned one for about a month now, and although in a previous post I said "I love it" that would be an exageration. The car is capable, comfortable, and impressive. But if I had the choice I would have the FFRR. I'm not sure if things are different between 2005 and 2007 X5s though? They look good, but not as good as the FFRR. Your choice at the end of the day. I would test drive one for a weekend. It may be a bit pricey but I would much rather pay a few hundred pounds than a couple thousand and regret it. Thumbs Up

i like the sound/speed of the 4.8 ,think it still looks good and are going for not a lot of money compared to range rovers,
the spec is high on it to and as i only have a facelift se its appealing a lot

Was looking at this D4 and this one a couple of days ago. Was nearly going to investigate further. I'm now torn between the D4 and FFRR Confused
