Calais to Dijon.... Dijon to Biarritz, then round the corner into northern Spain

@ Gaz, Thumbs Up and generally more "scenic" routes. Interesting point is that where the motorway is an upgrade of an existing RN and not a new section then there is no toll because there is no alternative. A good example is the A20 from Vierzon to Brive which is toll free.

On the subject of motorways in France, although they are excellent for getting from A to B I often think of the experience of driving through the country when there were none or very few 40 or 50 years ago. Nostalgia (or is it just age? Wink ) John
