Which IID Tool would work

I have a 2004 TD6 Vogue the FBH didn't work the other morning. I took it to a Local garage and they plugged it in to a diagnostic tool. They were able to prime the FBH but not run a full test or set up the AUX Heater on the dash.
I was told that this could not be done on my model as it was too old I was wondering if this is the case or is there an IID tool that can do this on my model. I didn't want to fork out a few hundred pound just before Christmas and be in the same boat as I am now.
Any advise would be much appreciated.
