My late 2011 TDV8 has keyless start, but you have to press the key fob to unlock and lock it. Do I need to bother with a "Faraday bag" thingy for when the keys are in the house? Or is it only keyless entry models [L405?]where you should bother with such a bag?

only keyless entry ones have that problem....
but do make sure you superlock yours with 2 key presses or use the iidtool to program one key press superlock.....
and make sure its locked properly before you walk away in case a key jammer is used.. ... - .- -.

Three customers have lost keyless 322’s in the last 6 months! One of them was my last “Grey 322” stolen in Manchester!!!

OK cheers Stan. At first I found the folding mirror function when you lock the car rather annoying, but I suppose it's a good visual confirmation that you haven't been jammed.
I had full keyless entry on my Golf GTI and, although handy at times (e.g. in pouring rain when you realise your key is at the bottom of your bag!) I did worry about the security issues. Apparently, Golf R and Audi RS3 thefts are epidemic in some areas of the UK.
I wonder which manufacturer will be the first to introduce fingerprint/voice recognition or something?

i agree the folding mirrors confirming lock is good, i've also activated the lock 'beep' as well with the iidtool... ... - .- -.

Seriously though, what is the answer. I'm glad I'm too remote to get bother from anyone. I know how annoying having a car stolen is.
Had a nice XR4i back in the 80's, went to a cousins wedding in Newcastle and car was gone within hours.
Is it possible to put a power isolator between the battery and starter. That way all electronic stuff stays on but car won't start.
If it's well hidden then it's a deterrent. Maybe design one that uses a solenoid and have a key switch or similar to operate it.
