Terrain Response Selection

Hi,
Sorry if this seems a dumb question, Ive looked in my owners manual but couldnt find anything and have searched on here.

My question is..........Can, for example the Mud. Snow and Gravel setting be selected while on the move, and at what speed is best ??.

Thanks

I have changed the Terrain Response selection on the move at less than 10 MPH. It's the Low/ High Ratio change that can only be done stopped in Neutral, I believe.

The manual doesnt say you cant do it on the move, so I would think you can.

The vehicle will warn you if it can't complete the action (for example needs low range for the mode yet you are in high range)

I have switched between normal and GGS this week on the move, but all below 10mph. Throttle response changes after a second or two. __

Thanks everyone,

I used it for the first time yesterday, I did stop and selected it, I noticed a distinct difference in engine pick up and brake feel and a big plus of course "no bongs of death".
There is very little traffic where i live and the snow tends to get very deep with ruts and is slow to melt away so I thought i would give it a try, very impressed Thumbs Up.

It's quite remarkable isn't it! HDC down steep icy roads is very clever too. You do have to trust the tech though... __

I was wondering about HDC in snow / ice.

If you're in snow mode, I presume the FFRR's brain knows and acts accordingly. What do I put here then?

Yes, I was in Grass Gravel Snow with HDC pressed and in High Range. I was then able to control my descent using the cruise control buttons. Amazing how the gizmos can slow such a heavy car on ice.

Obviously physics will always prevail and if you are simply too fast or there is zero grip, gravity will beat the gadgets. __

Thanks.

Shame all the snow's gone from round me ...

... I'm itching to give it a go now. What do I put here then?

Yes you can select any while on the move, you can also switch between hi + lo range while moving BUT you have to coast and select neutral while doing so. Current

I’ve been using the “grass, gravel and snow” and HDC quite a lot over the past couple of weeks. You can engage it on the move and it’s excellent.

One thing I have noticed is that, having put the dial back to the normal position and getting the “special programmes turned off” message”, I switch the car off, only to find the next morning that the thing has gone back to the previous setting. It’s happened a few times now and I don’t know why. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I went out for a good play with he car yesterday in fresh snow over ice. I wanted to try the technology when I didn't really need to go anywhere and could walk home if needs be. The car was truly impressive.HDC was excellent and it romped up a fairly steep and technical (steep sharp turns) hill back to the house. Photo shows the last drag to the top which is steeper than it looks. All this on road tyres (with not much life left in them)

I love this car!
