At main dealears prices for the job, your pump has already paid you back after only one change.

Ive got nothing against main dealers, i just prefer to do things myself. I really care about my cars, and take great pride in maintaining them. If it means buying/making a few special tools or equipment its just part of ownership! MY11 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE |

I agree completely, and at least you have the peace of mind knowing that you have filled it with the right specification oil.

That looks much easier than the big hand pump ones. What type of battery is that you are using to power it a motorbike one or something?? Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue |

The name of the Castrol oil has changed from what the handbook called it, yes.

Castrol edge professional titanium FST C1 if you really want Castrol. Cheaper alternatives like Euro Car Parts Triple QX also do a C1 to the right spec. You’re best bet is looking on the Opie Oils website for a good selection. Just make sure it’s to the Ford WSS-M2C934-B spec if you’ve got the 4.4 TDV8. Chris |

I've often been puzzled by this point. Some posts on here will advise "you must ONLY use this oil, nothing else will do!", but surely it's just a case of conforming to spec? If a fluid meets the manufacturer specification, who cares what brand it is? Especially true with bottles labelled "special Land Rover oil" costing £35 per litre, given that LR don't make oil in the first place! |

Its just a 12v battery from a little golf cart. Next time ill just use the vehicle battery, the leads will reach just about. I used oil meeting the correct spec (C1 and the relevant ford spec) from my local motor factors. 20 litres for £51+VAT. Will MY11 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE |
