2018 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Carpathian Grey

Antifreeze, how do you check yours?

Figured I’d better check my antifreeze value with this Cold stuff coming, anyone have an easy test point / process they use?
I have the turkey baster type and stick the hose part in the bleed screw but have differing success!

The car usuall requires some work yearly that requires the coolant dropped, we always refill with new at 50% so I’m confident it’s up to spec

Prior to that it had the common TDV8 cracked thermostat housing, so was a ongoing change

@Vogue I have something similar, how do you collect a sample?
I refilled recently so am confident in the strength just curious on the best method

Yep I find I have to wait till it’s warm then open the filler and the bleed screw to raise the level enough to get some out, then when finished I have to bleed the air out again, just wondered if there was a better way

Andy, ad piece of plastic/rubber tubing to turkey baster,

Car is equipped with "specific gravity sensor" - weighted float for the proximity switch which alerts us of low level/quality of the coolant.

I didn’t know it checked SG as well as coolant level.

Mike, I'v learned that on this forum and tested It when I had my expansion tank off for cleaning. filling tank with just water resulted in a warning, adding antifreeze OK .
