Infotainment Update

Guys,

Bit of disaster today. Took my MY 17 RR Vogue in to my local LR garage for a major incontrol infotainment system update due to my bluetooth connectivity dropping out.

The update was extensive and took most of the day. What I didn't realise when leaving the garage was that the satnav system now doesn't work properly. The cars location stays at the LR garage regardless of where the car is. As you can imagine this is a nightmare for work etc.

I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated and I'm now left with a new major fault.

Has anybody else had this problem or even know a potential fix.

Such a lovely car let down by poor software and extremely poor customer care network.

Put your complaint on the garage's and LR Facebook pages, you'll get a reply then, no trouble Thumbs Up

I bet that would work Chalky!

I'm thoroughly frustrated. I've waited ages for the bluetooth fix and now i can't use the Censored satnav on a car that is quite expensive and less than 12 months old

If you're not getting anywhere then do it.

I've done it on a couple of occasions, once with LR and once with Peugeot. Both times I got a response within 24 hours and both times the problems were resolved and we kissed and made up Rolling with laughter

@Jase

I had that update done last week too.

My sat nav is stuck on the dealership location.

Hopefully the car will go back in to be looked at. I'll let you know if there is any progress.

My car has had a flickering sat nav screen for months. It's had a new screen, replacement IMC (infotainment master controller) and numerous software updates, all to no avail.

Hi Scott,

It is mightily frustrating eh? They fixed the bluetooth disconnecting issue but then left me with a broken satnav.

My car is in again to see if they can resolve it....which i sincerly hope they can as the rest of the car is great.

I wish they would get their act together. First step LR should do is take away the pain by immediately offering a loan car and swapping units over with serviceable ones straight away while they deal with the old one. Not let customers wait about with a broken car.

My wife always said it would be a mistake to leave Porsche...

I'll keep you updated.

Hi Jase,

Good luck with that.

The software update I had was supposed to have been made ready in November 2017.

Then December, then January, finally released in February 2018 and it doesn't work.

I've just noticed that music played on the ipod turns to white noise after a while playing.

Oddly enough, this is my third L405 and it has had no mechanical problems in the 12 months I've owned it.

It's the software that's ruined it...

It’s the quality of software engineering and development that’s an issue, not the location where they reside. I work with crap software developers worldwide... the trick is to replace them.

For sure...they should be designing to a stringent standard and testing thoroughly prior to rolling out to the public.

feel you pain guys.
plenty of issues documented on here, so sadly you are not on your own.
I do hope they sort it for you.

Okay, the latest.

The update fix failed so my car is still at the garage and apparently a ‘webex’ is now required with LR to find out how to restore sat nav functionality.

It’s really frustrating not knowing when or how any of this will take to be sorted.

I really enjoy my RR but the infotainment system is its Censored Achilles heel

I am not certain but suspect the Sat nav not working at all could be regarded as an improvement. Razz letters not necessarily in the right order

Hi Dixy,

I have the SIM card in and prior to the update it worked like a treat. Amazed me sometimes how it managed to direct me around jams..

So I swapped an intermittent Bluetooth connection with a crashed satnav!

If they can get it all to work properly it will be great...

My car is finally sorted Very Happy . The HQ LR techs sorted out the software in the end. However, just a warning guys, incontrol software update 17C is great but there are many problems out there. Thankfully mine got sorted but I do know of people waiting a long time for a resolution. So my advice would be to wait a bit until they iron out the bugs!

Anyway, very happy to have the Rangie home again!
