Hy all,

Just diagnosed a faulty fuel pump on my 02' 4.4

Does anybody know will a bmw x5 pump fit or are they even the same part before I go near the stealers..?

I am quite sure they are not the same at all. The RR pump was built to run on steep grades, just do a search for the BMW pump then the RR and compare pictures.

Yes they are the same - there is a caveat...

The upper housing is slightly different, but you can take the pump/lower part off and swap it over.

There is a write up on it somewhere.

I really need to get round to fixing my fuel sender as it doesn't read below 1/4 of a tank. I keep it half full all the time now, but there's always that chance of not finding a fuel station for miles.

Is the sender attached to this fuel pump and is it a seperate item to buy? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

The sender unit is part of the pump, I wonder if someone has removed the pump at some time and it needs calibrated again.

Don't know about resetting. Just thinking of how they work.. it may be just a crap connection where the arm sweeps across the resistive wire which tells the level. Could be as simple as needing a bit of a retensioning Noddy. Only one way to find out I guess.. either that or run it in to be fettled.

Have you done anything to the vehicle that would be likely to want it to be recalibrated? - This is an area I have no knowlegde on. I'd think if it shows full when its full then its fine. Does the low fuel light ever come on or do you bottle it before it gets that low (I would!). 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS
