I'm new to towing and have a standard class B German license. I'm having trouble understanding exactly how heavy a load I'm allowed to tow with the L322. It seems the car and trailer including load are not allowed to exceed a combined weight of 3500kg with a class B license. This means I can only pull a 800kg trailer and load. Is this right? I've seen L322s towing much larger trailers on the roads in Germany. Have I misunderstood the law or should I assume they have a different class of license? Can I tow more if the trailer has its own brakes?

In Australia, Tow ball weight needs to be taken in consideration also . |

The rules about weights are the plated weight so even if your RR is empty you cannot tow anything without a B+E.
