Radio Interference when Heated Rear Screen Selected????

Hi guys,

As the subject of the topic suggests, im getting a strange noise / interference when i press the button for the Heated Rear Screen.

I have had it for a while now, pretty much ever since i installed the Land Rover half height Dog Guard.
I have removed the dog guard and the noise is still there. I have checked the side windows to see if i have damaged any of the radio antenna etc while installing the dog guard but all looks ok??

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Paul

seems strange it only started when the dog guard was fitted ..i would concentrate on that and check that nothing has been knocked or any wires crimped.. ... - .- -.

Hi Scarey,

Its really strange. The dog guard is attached at 4 points. Two in the roof lining and 2 adjustable straps on the boot so there are no wires in the vicinity of any of these attaching points??

Maybe just a coincidence that it happend when i installed the dog guard?? Could be something else i feel!

Thanks again.

pretty sure the radio aerial is in the window on the near side so could you have banged that somewhere when putting in the guard or the heating screen connections have been dis-lodged.. ... - .- -.

Depending on what trim level you have depends on whether you have the "diversity" tuner option. If you do, perhaps you have dislodged a connection to one of the two aerials?

If yours is a Vogue - then yes it will have (I think)

Basically though just open the panel on the left in the boot and make sure that everything is attached. I believe the antenna cables are quite high up and kinda bolted to the side of the car. Vs everything else that is lower down.
