Liars....

If I stripped my FFRR out to a bare shell, I could probably squeeze another 4mpg out of the current mpg figure. What is the point of test track fuel figures in the first place /

England 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

There needs to be a central body that sets real World tests against which all cars, models and types can be measured. Until then, all makers will fudge things to look better than the other fudges. Tom

Strictly speaking they aren't liars, the manufacturers report the mpg figures obtained using the official laboratory based test method. It's this that produces such misleading results mainly because it was never designed to take hybrid systems into account, which is why a new system is needed.

The other joke is all of those who choose a hybrid company vehicle to claim the ridiculously reduced benefit in kind figure, then never plug the damn thing in and use only fossil fuel. I'll bet their mpg figures are a real eye opener! Drives:
