Just bought genuine LR front and rear discs from Duckworths but what brake pads would you go with please?

Ryan, apparently 'jurid' make the OE pads for LR and are significantly cheaper.. ... - .- -.

I type in Jurid on search engine and it's not clear whether they're compatible.

Was quite simple really...

Google “Jurid brake pads Range Rover”

4th result down is Jurid’s own website

Put in your details, and it brings up the available brake pads and part numbers, of which there are 2 choices, Brembo or non-Brembo

The a quick Google search of the Jurid number gives all the online retailers

From there, it goes even further giving full specifications, alternative and competitors equivalent part numbers, and also cross references which other models they fit

Quite easy, really

Goto Brembo website and bang your reg number in.

I just got a trade account with Eurocar parts and its much cheaper for the OE Brembo parts if you call them. JLR local dealer was same price.

I think the challenge is what wheels you got from factory, as I've been told my car has Brembo calipers so needs the pads and discs to match. ther are the 6 piston caliper one. I'm wondering since my car was specced with big wheels that they put bigger calipers on as standard but this is just a guess and dealer seems to be very specific on the fitment.

NO!!! Don't use that Brembo tat from ECP...

They are NOT BREMBO brake pads nor are they of any quality sir!

BREMBO is a brand of Calipers NOT brake pads! The rubbish sold on ebay and by ECP in BREMBO boxes only carry the BREMBO logo as thats what callipers they fit! Its a legal loophole, meaning BREMBO allow their name/branding to be used by anyone who makes pads to fit a Brembo equipt vehicle!!! The pads sold in flashy BREMBO boxes i would guess have had less money spent on the pads then they have on the boxes they come in! Its a great Con!!!

We have seen them used 100 times and 100 times they have been changed as they are JUNK!!! You have been warned sir!

And if your interested? Jurid make the pads for BREMBO equipt JLR vehicles

For what it's worth, l used the Textar branded pads front and rear on my previous 405 from advandced factors on here and couldn't tell the difference between them and the LR branded ones.

craig....if the brembo website gives me the pad part numbers and thats what i ordered from ecp.....and the part number is the same at the dealer which is what they are suggesting to put on then what am i missing here??? i'm happy to be educated but i think they must be brembo pads if the part numbers show on their website.....a box is a box to me.... all smug in my new plug!

I can't work out what Jurid pads our car needs and I don't think they're any cheaper than buying genuine LR from a main dealer, from what I can fathom to date.

Our car has TRW calipers all round.


What are people's experiences with ceramic pads as oppose to traditional pads?

Dan @ Duckworth has given me good quotes but it's whether to go for ceramic or standard LR pads... Opinions welcome please?

I've had Brembo pads previously & they were crap

I think I understand what Craig is saying - that the part number is more like a pattern number and any manufacturer can use it.

I'm surprised that Brembo allow some of the packaging though as I'd have been convinced my pads were made by them - bright red boxes plastered with the Brembo logo.

As for ceramic pads - they sound like a bad idea for a FFRR to me -

Pros:
Quieter than semi-metallic pads, they emit noises that are above the range of human hearing
Produce finer, lighter-colored brake dust which does not stick to wheels
Longer lifespan than organic or semi-metallic
Stable under a wide range of temperatures for consistent performance

Cons:
Typically, the most expensive type of brake pad
Do not produce as much cold bite as semi-metallic pads — may not be ideal in extremely cold climates
Do not absorb heat as well as semi-metallic pads, which can increase brake system temperatures
Good all-around braking characteristics, but were never designed as heavy-duty or racing brake pads

Nope - I'm more confused now - it certainly look like Brembo make & sell their own pads

I was trying to source Jurid pads not Brembo but I’m giving up because I can’t work out which ones our car needs or where to get them from.

The decision is whether to get LR or another brand, including the ceramic pads option.

EBC Reds

Not cheap, but an excellent brake pad. Have a set waiting to be fitted when my current pads wear out

EBC adverts all seem to direct LR RR owners to yellow or green, not red pads. They says they minimise disc wear and dust. It’s all very confusing
