Ok, so changed the thermostat and got an airlock, are they difficult to bleed?

So the machine was left overnight to settle, topped up this morning, left all day and tried this evening.

Further update, filled it with water tonight, tested for exhaust gas at the expansion bottle, all going well for 10 mins, then the dreaded colour change.

Vaporizer can leak gas into water as it uses hot water to vaporize gas mabe run her on petrol for a while and check again can be a common fault .Not to expensive to fix better than head gaskets |

A viscous fan will always spin as it's attached to the water pump which is driven by the serpentine belt. You can stop it using something that won't break it such as a rolled up newspaper. When the radiator get's up to temperature, the viscous fluid heats up and locks the fan clutch and then fan will spin at actual engine speed. Don't try and stop the fan when the radiator is up to temperature though and the clutch has locked. |
