Smallest Wheel Sizes for L405 / Rear E-Diff Option

My friend is about to buy a 2015 L405 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography.

Can anyone tell me what the smallest wheels are that will fit straight on? I don't need tyre info thanks just wheel.

The rear locking E-Diff on the L405s - do the Autobiographys all have them or do I need to check on the build sheet/website?

Thanks,

Tim

Do you mean alloy diameter size or tyre width?

Alloy min is 19"
Tyre size: 235/65 R19 109v.

Thanks for the replies - I am talking about wheels only not tyres.

On my 2012 L322 19" are the min wheel size to clear the brakes, I wondered if the L405 had even bigger brakes therefore couldn't take 19" but that's good if they can.

Do you know what "style" those posted in the picture above are please?

Also any info on the E-diff?

Thanks.

I can only speak for 2017 cars, by which time the E-diff was standard on SDV8’s of all specs and the minimum wheel diameter was 20” (19” for TDV6’s only).

I’m happy to provide a link to a PDF copy of the 2017 brochure, that specified the standard E-diff for SDV8’s and the differing disc diameters and minimum wheel sizes, if that would help Thumbs Up

Can’t speak for 2016MY cars, or earlier, though.

The brakes haven’t got any larger (although I seem to remember the TDV6 fronts got smaller at some point) - same calipers with 380mm discs on the front.

The 19" Style 1/Style 5001/whatever that come on other-market L405 HSEs were listed as a UK accessory for all L405s when the car was launched - on that basis, they must fit over the brakes. They’re fairly common on lower-spec Sports.

Thanks for the replies, looks like we'll have to check the build spec for the diff with the VIN then - can anyone remind me what the website was for that please, I can't remember or find it on google!

EDIT: LR Topix is what I was looking for.

I've got a set of four 235.65.19 style 501. Pirelli scorpions. Same as in Verydisco's photo. Came off an L405 and have delivery mileage only. As new, no marks or scuffs. Would offer them for sale but cannot do anything regarding preparing for dispatch as still eight months into convalescence.

Stan if this is misplaced I will understand. Confused John

2017MY spec:

TDV6: Front 360, rear 350.

SDV8: Front 380, rear 365.

(Taken from P129 of the 2017 brochure)

P106 then shows the 19” wheel choices as only being available on the TDV6 and V6 Supercharged engines.

Happy to send links to a PDF of the brochure.

If there’s an example where 19” rims have successfully been fitted to a 2017 SDV8, I know someone who’d really like to know! Thumbs Up

They were an option when launched; this is from the 2019 US specifications - if you look at the 380 hp V6 and the hybrid, 19” (Style 1/501/5001) is listed as a compatible wheel size with the 15”/380mm brakes:
