Free 7 day driveaway Insurance

Gents,
All is not what it seems with the Land Rover Free driveaway Insurance.

Had a phone call from the dealership today and as the “ insurance provider” for Land Rover has recently been changed NO vehicle with a value over £100,000 will be eligible for the,as advertised on the Land Rover website , Free 7 Day Driveaway Insurance.

So where they say, as it does on the website with No Caveat, buy a New or Approved Land Rover from any Land Rover retailer and they will provide a free 7 Day driveaway Insurance, is actually not the case if your vehicle is over £100,000.

What a load of Censored Censored

That’s a huge own goal Shocked

They really must have been looking to cut costs to lose sight of the fact that it needs to cover the value of all of the cars that they want to sell.

Red Merle,

That is exactly the way my conversation went with them........

There are currently 15 FFRR’s and 12 RRS’s on their Approved website that are not eligible for this Insurance !!!!!!

I was also refused insurance from them due to the fact that the L405 I was purchasing via the used approved scheme didn’t have a tracker fitted. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

Right,

So the news is looking dimmer by the minute.......

As I am unable to have the Free 7 day Driveaway Insurance off Land Rover I have been ringing around and on tinternet to get Insurance off various different companies and thought why don’t I give Land Rover Insurance a go at giving me a quote, please note now that I’m asking for a full 12 month insurance policy and not the free Driveaway.

Gobsmacked to find that Land Rover do not insure Land Rover Vehicles over £100,000 Thud

So not only no insurance for the 7 day driveaway but no insurance cover whatsoever.

So I said to the person on the phone, “ what you’re saying is that I cannot get Land Rover Insurance from Land Rover even though I’ve bought a vehicle direct from Land Rover?”

“Yes” was the reply Shocked Shocked Banging Head Banging Head

If you live in a “rural postcode”, the NFU so much better insurance than Land Rover can do through their I’ll chosen partner! Thumbs Up

Not paying for 7 days’ insurance isn’t the issue, but it’s darn convenient when it isn’t always possible to remove the insurance from one car and move it to the new one at exactly the moment the dealership need you to do it - especially when it’s a new car that needs to be registered and taxed before you get to the showroom to collect it.

The free insurance has really eased the process on a number of car changes that I’ve done Thumbs Up

When I bought my car a couple of days before picking it up I mentioned to the dealer the 7 x day free insurance as I was very busy at the time and it would save me messing about.
I was told it was too late and that in any case I would likely be turned down by the insurer.
I found this strange bearing in mind I am over 60, clean licence and full no claims on all my other car policies.
Never the less I shrugged my shoulders and arranged my own cover.
I turned up on the morning to collect my car and asked if the car was taxed to be told no I would have to tax it?
The sales man could not log on to the DVLA site so I was pointed towards the nearest Post Office where I had to go to tax the car.
I have no problem taxing and insuring my car but the fantasy that is LRAU and the reality are poles apart.
