Hi guys, new to the site. Only signed up yesterday. I seem to be having a problem with my battery drain. Had the battery tested, and it was 100% charged but not working greatly, and it showed I needed a new battery, anyway £300 lighter today, well £159 due to a sale on them, car started first time, took it for a drive for the first time and sounded lovely. Anyway, after shopping came home, and left it 3 hours, went to go for another drive and wouldn’t start up. Can anyone help me please?

Battery voltage when running?

Flattening a battery that quickly is tricky, unless it’s not charging, check the alternator. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Does seem to die too quickly to be a drain? When my FSR failed (had 2 on my FF now in 10 years of ownership) it used to drain over a matter of 5-7 days, certainly not a few hours?

the drain i had on the bluetooth module meant it was more often than not too low to start the car the next day.

I would check charge voltage with engine running is 14 volts plus.
Common fails are FSR , water ingress in NSR boot area and headlight wipers not parking or faulty.
I would charge it and drive it for a bit and check it starts after first stopping and disconnect following the correct procedure. Reconnect after your 3 hours and then try and start. If starts ok then leave for a few hours and try again having been connected , if it then fails it’s a case of parasitic battery drain procedure

what did it do when you tried to start it after leaving it for 3 hours? click only, nothing, turned over slowly etc?
when batteries fail they seem to go almost instantly when a cell fails. you new battery could be a duffer?
for a drain to flatten it beyond starting in 3 hours its a big one, like leaving your lamps on or something.
