Wikipedia says that the average height of butlers is only five foot tall, hence the roofs not being washed..... |

My desk at work looks down on a busy road. I often see a fattie go by which appears to have most of the lacquer missing off the roof. Looks a state from above but probably fine from street level. This always gives me the encouragement needed to get the step ladder out. 2011 5.0 S/C |

I have one of those work platforms from Screwfix that's about 2 foot high and 4 foot long, which is ideal for te job. And yes, everytime I wash it (which currently isn't too often, I must admit). 2004 Vogue TD6 - Remapped |

Stan poked fun at my little red chair, but it gets used for many jobs, including washing and polishing the roof , |

Domestic servants are specifically excluded from the benefits of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The fact it was written by a Lord (Robens) I'm sure had nothing to do with this slight deviation from common sense. Therefore feel free to equip him with a one legged barstool for the task, good enough for him too. |

I'm another who washes the roof every single time - but I only wash the car about 4 times per year - next time will be Easter when it gets to Bordeaux en route back to England.

I can’t reach my roof. And I can’t use my stepladder because my drive slopes and the Range has gouged a ruddy great pothole in it. (It’s on the list of things to fix!)
