BT Module

Hi

Anyone knows if the modules for RRS, Discovery and RR are all the same.
Since mine has packed up, iv'e been checking on eBay the Nokia modules.
Most are with the code:
XVJ500280

on the Lrdirect website, it says that is has been superceded, superced, superced, many times now.

will the old module fit and work?

I may need help in decoding the wiki...

.......
84 21 6 950 089 end of life 06/04 4th generation, better DSP onwards
84 21 6 945 387 end of life 01/05 5th generation, better antenna optimization
84 21 6 955 522 end of life 10/05 6th generation, Phonebook works with iphone.
84 10 6 969 268 end of life 04/06 7th generation
........

What does all this mean in relation to the part code ''XVJ500280'' or other XJVXXXXXX....?
On the LRDirect website, i tried the numbers above, and nothing... Shocked

My car is an 06 but model year 07.
I don't really care about the generations and/or capabilities. The phonebook thingy never really worked ok, as each time i recycle the ignition it loses and regains the BT connection but without the phonebook capability... so don't really care about that.

My only requirement is, will any of the part numbers mentioned above work as plug and play on my car?
As long as it connects to BT and i can use the loudspeaker, i'm good Mr. Green

The codes (84 xx x xxx xxx) that you have referenced in your post are for the older BMW ULFs. The XVJ codes are from the newer models.

Easy way to check what module you have, the BMW ULF is a long aluminium box, and if I remember stands upright in the electronics bay.

The newer Bluetooth modules are black plastic and lie horizontally above (I think) the navigation module.

Hold on folks the OP has a 2007.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but ULF won't work with that !!??

So all of the part numbers with generation versions won't work as they are all ULF

My car is the MOST car with the Nokia BT and Fiberoptic cable.

I've seen one Nokia For sale on the net. but the code is XVJ500280, which I think comes from a Disco.
The new code, after many iterations is now: XVJ500420

if the xxxxxx280 works, i'm ok.

Outside, they all look alike to me.
And being Nokia, in theory they should be interchangeable.
