Dog Ramp

My big dog is getting a bit less agile and can no longer jump into the rear of the car.
Can anyone recommend a dog ramp which is reasonably light and can fold up to be left in the back of the car?
Thank you for your help.

Oh yes, I use one several times a day, every single day of the year!

Telescopic beats folding for convenience and single handed use 👍 This is the one to go for and it’s the cheapest place to buy it:

Thank you for the link.
Did you go for the standard model or the XL?
Also does the ramp just sit on the tailgate or is it secured in someway?
Sorry for all the questions.

You’re welcome Thumbs Up

The XL isn’t necessary and won’t fit in the boot either. The standard one fits like it was made for the car. The top 3” section of the ramp is bent slightly so that it sits flat on the lower tailgate and it’s very secure when in place. Would you like me to take some pictures in the daylight in the morning?

Pictures would be great if not too much trouble.
Thank you.

As you can see, the standard length ramp is just the right length for the boot.

The ramp is rigid aluminium, so it doesn’t flex and the rear end of it can be lifted with one hand, then slid back into the boot and telescoped in one motion.

PS: He doesn’t normally look so sad! Rolling Eyes

The cars parked in the warehouse at work. The lower edge of the ramp is resting on a smooth, painted, relatively grip free, concrete floor.

Here’s how little movement there is in the top of the ramp as he gets in and out:

It doesn’t sit quite flat, but there are rubber feet that are pressing down into the carpet at the leading edge and they stop it from moving:

Grippy rubber feet at the bottom too:

If there’s anything else that you need to know, please ask.

Here you are Red, go for black or grey if I were you. I've had both over the years. Have black now and it is great.

Make sure you follow the instructions concerning getting the silicone coat off your car, which is always on the plastic, before using the velcro,
