OE Tow Bar Swap, 2008 to 2011

My local dealer has suggested that the wiring loom of the LR tow bar on a 2008MY car is incompatible with a 2011MY car.

I assume that the tow bar and armature are otherwise physically capable of being swapped between the cars and that the correct loom (listed as Part No. VPLMT0007) is dealer-fit - can anyone confirm?

If the part numbers for both armatures are the same, then yes.

Which loom are you on about?

If the 1 with the trailer sockets on then easy to do it yourself and just plug it in. You will get good enough instructions with the loom.

Thanks, haven't checked part numbers but assumed the armature was identical.

I did mean the wiring ending in the trailer light socket - are they definitely a simple plug-in to an existing factory socket on the vehicle? Never had a close look.

When I alled 1 on the TD6 there is 1 module required and a couple of Plugs.

Have a look in behind the right hand panel, where the fuse box is. The trailer contol box is a grey baox on the right.

If you get stuck let me know
