Satnav, TV tuner, radio & amp all kaput + satnav upgrade

The satnav, TV tuner, radio and amp. modules in my 2004 RR are all kaput... water ingress seems to be to blame. Had the RR dealer and an independent ICE specialist confirm the deaths Crying or Very sad

So - I have bought a BMW MkIV satnav unit from eBay with 2010 disc - so far so good. Smile

This needs the RR splashscreen doing, but I have seen posts about this already so hopefully I can manage that bit...

I'd like to put in a TV tuner that can pick up digital. What would I need to get, here? Is this the BMW digital + analogue unit that I have seen mentioned on other posts?

Then, what would I be looking for (on eBay let's say) with regard to the radio and the amp. modules?

Is there anything special I need to do to swap old and new units, or is it just plug and play? This is all a bit new to me...

All advice received with thanks! Very Happy

Censored ! I think most parts should be available via eBay. Try some breakers yards. You may get a job lot? Think the TV is specific hybrid tuner that's plug an play. A later year BMW mod. Dan will be along soon to lend a hand. May take time but sure eBay will supply what you need.

I have had an other from a breaker to supply an amp, tuner and tv tuner for £774 which seemed a lot?

Look at the thread below about fitting nav to a HSE. Dan has put some rough prices which are pretty close to what you've been offered. Might be quicker and easier than waiting for eBay?

As Rob said, Dan's prices in the other post are pertty accurate. You're not getting a steal, but then again your not spending hours searching ebay and waiting weeks to win that low priced auction. And then hoping that the seller is honest and you aren't being sent items that are no better than the water-logged ones you have....

If that is the hybrid tuner (dvb-t/analog), you're actually getting a pretty good deal. Make sure it says 'hybrid i-bus' on the parts sticker. If you get a BMW BM54 radio unit manufactured post 9/02 (also on sticker) you'll have aux-in capability. If you have DSP and are going used, stick to an amp from a RR as the DSP is coded to the vehicle shape for best processing.
