22” road noise

I have 285/35x22 on a set of Hawke Chaytons. These came with the car and I’m still undecided whether to change them or not.
I get a dull rumble when on the move. The last time I had something like this it was the tyre out of shape. It’s not a constant rumble but something that rotates. I thought it was a bearing at first but the repetitive sound is too slow for something like a drive shaft spinning at high speed. It sounds like every rotation of a tyre hitting the road at a certain point.

I had a conversation with Hawke yesterday re the tyre size and they confirmed it was correct. I pointed out that the L405 use 275/40x22 and he reply was “yes but that’s the new one. They’re different”. Surely a 22” rim relies on the same OD on both variants?
