Changing your AC condenser

With the help of the forum, I managed to procure a guide for bumper removal, and proceed with replacing my condenser...

Land rover quoted me £1,687.00 to change this and regas.

After removing the bumper you start to see all the stuff that is in the way! anyway I thought I would share a couple of pictures I took while doing the job.

In the end it cost me £80 for a new condenser genuine direct from UK supplier. And £140 to re-gas! Smile

Jesus! And I've just paid a MD £130 to have the air con re-gassed and air con bombed!

If CTC reads this, I'd already paid for it before he advised me not to waste my money (if ain't broke don't fix).

Good for you

Thumbs Up

Can anyone else see the pictures?

I'm just about to do mine and could do with some idea what needs to come off to get to it...

I did one on a L322 a couple of years ago and it took a while, but was fairly straight forward. However, on the L405, the slam panel is more complex and harder to remove. Current:
- 2013 L405 4.4 TDV8 Vogue
Sold:
- 2004 L322 4.4 Vogue (BRC LPG)
- 2002 L322 4.4 HSE (having fixed timing chain guides)
- 2000 P38 4.6 Vogue (BRC LPG)
- 1981 2-door In-Vogue
- 1980 Ex-Army SIII LWB
- 1976 SIII LWB
- 1968 SIIA
Stripped for parts:
- 2003 L322 4.4 Vogue
