New towbar fitted, rear sensor not deactivating

Afternoon Gents,

So just spent a small fortune getting detachable westfalia + proper loom fitted. Pre purchase , asked if they will code out rear sensors etc, yes sir no problems all part of the service. Did a test hook up on Sunday, damn sensors are still active, queried to be told " we hooked the car up to our machine, there were no software adaptions available for your car," so it's meant to be plug & play . Any of you collective geniuses know the truth? Old L322 disconnected the sensors when it was hooked up. Rather peed off I have to manually turn them off. (minor annoyance I know but an annoyance all the same!)

Have you got an IID tool to see what your settings are?

From memory, you have to change one of the settings to tell the car that a tow bar is now installed, and then that should allow it to auto disable the sensors when a trailer lead is connected to the socket.

No, sadly I’ve never invested in one mate. Sounds as though that might be the case. So either put up with it and save a few pennies for an IID or spunk £50 for a quick coding.. Censored

Early production cars do NOT have a CCF for the tow bar unfortunately...

Mine doesn't have the CCF and to initiate my deployable unit there is a sequence of ignition on, ignition off, press a button, ignition on, ignition off, press another button etc etc etc

Might be similar with yours???

Plug the trailer electrics in, turn ignition only on and then off again. Start engine and see if sensors are disabled now?

Unnecessary quote removed

Deployable tow bar module isn’t on any of the vehicles networks so CCF doesn’t need amending. Tow bar module should only need initiating once. There was a service action to check the module number suffix and replace dependant on suffix
