What headphones will work for Dual view?

Hello all
So I'm not even 1 week into my ownership of my 64-plate VSE and I have a question Smile

Whilst showing SWMBO the car yesterday, we got to the dual view screen and ...
If I am driving, and want to listen to MY music, but SWMBO wants to watch the TV, how can she hear the TV sound?
My car did not come with any headphones - either they have been lost by the previous owner (unlikely carelessness, but I guess not impossible) or he simply never specified them when ordering from new. But since it does have dual view screen it seems to have been a miss on the order sheet?

So I am left with the option of trying to source a suitable set of headphones that will work with the head unit? Does it use standard bluetooth to communicate, or is it more complex and locked into the LR ecosystem? Current

sadly, they use a bespoke technology - whitefire or something. You have to buy dedicated ones from LR or perhaps find secondhand ones on eBay as I suspect LR will charge a small fortune for them. Crying or Very sad

Just as a side note. If you do get a pair - make sure you always remove them from the car as and when your car goes in for a service. It's not unknown for them to go "walkabout" and unless you use them every day, your unlikely to notice until weeks later they've vanished.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I guess I need to find out the correct part number for my vehicle and then go scouting! Current

I looked to see if there is part number on mine but I can't see one. I think they are fairly generic ( ie they work across most LR cars that use them) but dont take my word for it. Here's a photo of what they look like anyway.

So a quick search on eBay and on LR part websites seems to through up a variety of different part numbers (and prices) for seemingly the same thing!
Some seem to be infra-red, some seem to just say "wireless" etc.

Does anyone on here have an idea what part number I should be looking for?

Cheers Current

they are infrared. - the emit array is above your head in the courtesy light cluster. - if you look closely you will see a row of LEDs about 2 or 3 inches long.

If someone is using the word "wireless" they are just being generic since the term covers a multitude of technologies

I know I don’t have an L405, but on my dualview, whatever the passenger is watching comes through the speakers and the headphones are only for the rear screens.

Have things changed on the much newer infotainment system? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I often listen to one thing while wifey and kid watch something else with their headphones on.

Based on your photo @Fleagle_UK and a bit of searching on eBay I have managed to pick up a set for £29 all-in so will see how they go when they arrive.

Thanks all for the responses Thumbs Up Current

Thumbs Up You'll need some AAA batteries.
They're fairly easy to set up. - just on/off button, volume dial and channel selector.

Right, so to just close the loop on this one.

Bought a set off eBay - identical to the ones in Fleagle_UK's photo earlier - and they work a treat - no need to do anything - they just work!
Tested out at the weekend, with the TV on for the passenger, and me with the radio and Nav - just like magic Smile

Cheers all for the input (especially Fleagle for the photo Thumbs Up ) Current
