Digital TV Signal Intermittent

Hi all

The TV reception on my new to me 65 plate 5.0 S/C AB is quite average at times, is there a way to re-tune it to my local area? My last car could be re-tuned but I cant see any option in the menu on the RR and kids watching TV end up watching broken shows whilst driving but the last car was an excellent signal with very rare breaking up.

Anyone experienced this and sorted it? Infotainment is this type.

Thanks

Carl

errr to put it simply - the RR TV system is crap. VERY basic user functionality and very poor reception. You pretty much have to be very close and in line of site of a transmitter to stop reception/picture break up. We've had 3 Lr's with TV and it's been dismal in each.

I'm not saying there's not a fault with yours there may well be - but all in all it's probably just coz they're so poor. Sorry! Sad

Really, always found ours to be pretty good, one of my older children watches it in the rear on longer journeys and very rarely complains Smile

My troops are happy with theirs. It must be the area you live in. Reception is good in Teesside.

My last car, Mercedes GL63 AMG, was really good reception but the RR is shockingly poor, frequently breaking up and freezes the screen, audio cuts off etc.

Ive asked LR if theres a fix to improve reception on cars that have a problem, dont hold much hope other than the usual "diagnosis fee" please sir Confused

Is there a fix for this, asked LR SA and no response so looking for advice here please?

Signal is shocking, even when stationary the TV just breaks up over and over again

Thanks

Carl

You could try "re bedding" the Stations by setting the country to the wrong location , then back to the UK this will allow the tuner to have a fresh start . Drive the car to a known good reception area first . Worth a try .

I did try changing country once before and don't recall that it did anything to improve but will certainly try it now and then to see if it does.

Thanks for the suggestion

Must be my car, just got the missus a 63 plate Evoque Si4 Dynamic and hers is perfect, no breaking up or anything

Have to say the Evoque has shown the L405 up in many ways in the short time we’ve had it

So, having had northong short of useless response from LR Im left wondering what’s actually wrong and hiw much ££££ to fix?

I can't say if yours is faulty or not - but I can only restate that the old style TV tuners are absolutely rubbish - it maybe that yours is just normal ..... i.e. Censored
