United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
Rear Screen Enetertainment versus tablets (and which ones)

Having finally dealt on a 2011 Vogue SE without RSE I am having a quandary.

Should I get some sort of RSE retrofitted, or buy some mounts and tablets for the kids in the back?

So what are your thoughts about the sort of tablets I should investigate and an idea of how I put videos on there for them to watch. Ie USB, memory cards, or how much space is an average kids Disney type movie, so what sort of memory capacity do I need to think of?

Decent screen size and cheap upfront cost is the priority really, as kids are young (5&7)

Any advice gratefully appreciated. 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

I have the RSE and as much as I like the integrated side of it for shear versatility I would do this in future ,

I did this in my P38:

3D printed mounts for Amazon fire tablets that slot into the seat brackets for the original screens. Works brilliantly for long journeys.

Here's my solution, central iPad.
Either bluetooth headphones or I pipe it through the Harmon Kardon:

I'm tempted to do something like this as my DVD player is u/s and the TV reception is awful.

Daft question, but what sort of content can you put on an ipad? I only use mine for web browsing. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Aha, I've just started playing with that on my home network. Didn't realise you could download with it.

Isn't storage a big problem with ipads? 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

I don't have RSE, didn't want it, as i have have a couple in the past cars. Ended up using a Samsung tablet with 32GB card. It stores enough movies, tv shows etc. And if they have a few games on them that they enjoy, even better. Still gets used if the youngest (19) comes with us. Better than the odd grunt or looking at his phone all the time.

I think any tablet would do what you need, but either get one with a lot of on board storage, or one with an external mem card slot.

Depends on your definition of big problem.....

It's fixed size when you buy it & can't be changed or expanded later. It's also relatively expensive at the time of purchase. So you need to make sure you buy the right model for your needs.

Indeed, I use my old ipad pro with decent memory, plus you can download from Netflix & amazon prime too, very handy that is.
