As I understand it, the French government has said that they are working towards the price of diesel reaching that of petrol in three years.

Thanks for that. I re-registered my 2008 two years ago and it was about €900 IIRC so it has gone up. Possibly a reflection of the higher value of the later ones?

Friends of mine have imported discovery’s and range rovers less than 2 years old, and have had to pay nearly 8k!

From what I can see it makes no difference whether it is petrol or diesel so may just stick with petrol |

New French driving licences for categorie A and B are valid for 15 years from date of issue: Other categories have medical requirements with differing lengths of validity.
