Ford engine plant Bridgend closure.

Is the 4.4 tdV8 made at Bridgend ?, and if so, does it mark the end of JLR using it in L405’s ?

As I understand it, Bridgend is closing because JLR won’t be taking any engines after 2020, so presumably it will all be Ingenium derivatives from then on, including a straight 6. No doubt others know more

No, the V8 comes from Chihuahua https://corporate.ford.com/company/plant-d...plant.html

However, the entire supply contract with Ford is coming to an end.

Which is presumably why JLR have developed the ingenium range so they aren’t reliant on outside supply. The lack of a V8 in either diesel or petrol form is probably down to the increase in power available from the smaller engines. Also the incorporation of the ingenium into the P400/hybrid power train is probably supposed to supplant the diesel.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
