United States 2011 Range Rover Autobiography Supercharged Stornoway Grey
New Stateside FF RR 2011 L3222 AB owner

Well I thought I would start my thread now that I have picked up my new FFRR.

2011 Autobiography. Of course stateside we only have gasoline (petrol) engines so of course this is a 5.0l supercharged model. My wife and I flew to San Diego, CA to pickup our first fatty, then proceeded to drive approximately 1200 miles north to our home in the Seattle metro area. The day after we arrived, my wife took for another trip across the state to visit her dad, so all I have at this point are a few pictures provided by the PO and a couple I took on the California coast highway. Be kind as we are not photographers, but this will be a start.

Upon arrival in San Diego, I had just had the transmission, transfer case, and differential fluids changed. Then about halfway home I had a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S installed. Once I arrived, I changed the oil and filter as it was due for the change at that point. I decided to do that service myself as I wanted to learn the new engine setup and will do the normal service myself.

Back to the drive north, I am totally in love. I had read how much everyone loves theirs, but until one takes ownership you just don't know what it means. I had only driven one other 2010 SC model, so I didn't have much to measure it against. It just drives wonderfully. It is hard to explain, but the best I can do is a wonderful cross between a wonderful XJR, BMW 7 series and solid SUV. The power is spectacular for such a heavy beast, and I could never be wanting for more. This is the first time I have owned a vehicle that I can say that I don't want more power, and that is saying a lot given I will probably be swapping my XJR for an SL63 AMG.

After my wife got to Spokane this last Monday, she sent the most emotive message raving about how much she lovers her new RR. She rarely says anything about cars unless she really dislikes them, so this is a huge thing to hear her already talk about the L405 when it is time to upgrade to that!

When it returns and I open my Fathers day gifts, I will proceed to give it a good detail. It has been well maintained, but needs a bit more help to get it closer to what I want! 2011 Range Rover Autobiography

Looks great. I love the light-colored leather, as it really brings out the details of the interior. 2010 RR SC

Thanks everyone. We really like the interior color as well. Won't be as high of maintenance as Ivory, but still has some of the same affect of highlighting the interior. As to the weather, I truly wish I could still claim it but sadly I moved from the Southern California area nearly 20 years ago, and now live in the Seattle Metro area. From what I have been told, the Seattle weather is very similar to what you on the other side of the pond experience. Mostly grey and dreary!

As to mileage, it is currently 123K+. It was more than I wanted when I was searching, but when I reviewed the stack of invoices for the maintenance over the last 5 years and 60K+ miles, I decided that the higher miles shouldn't matter too much if I were to project TCO! The PO spent $28.5K dollars over that timeframe. Very Happy 2011 Range Rover Autobiography

I was thinking some of the classic British Leyland quality issues were to blame for the steering wheel placement?! Rolling with laughter 2011 Range Rover Autobiography

Yes I have done this section of highway several times and it never gets tiresome. If you haven't visited Hearst Castle, I highly recommend it as a destination for another visit to the area. 2011 Range Rover Autobiography

United States 2012 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

This is by far my favorite AB color combo.

There is another one of these for sale in Los Angeles right now but it's a super shady lot almost guaranteeing the vehicle is moldy and trashed.

I picked up a low mileage MY12 AB back in March. Locally (in LA) I found a Santorini Black with the Tan/Orange or Brown interior depending on how color blind a person is. I looked at a MY10 AB on Monday in SF with the blue/grey interior similar to yours.

Question tho: Did they explain how you ended up with 2 different color headrests?

Superb looking car.

Love the interior colour combo. Shame we don't see that colour over here. I like the ivory interiors but the practical bod in me thinks, hmmmm, grey.... 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB
