Yes, you have DSP. Time for some fine tuning on the DSP option. Adjust the DSP with the tones set to centre.

I did set the graphic equaliser to the central positions and it definately sounds better. I will have to look at a speaker upgrade package I think. 2002 Vogue Epsom Green with Ivory Leather.

Always use a good source for music, ie audio discs, or mp3. Dont expect much from radio, no matter how much you spend.

Netherlands 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

This message is from 2001, copied from the M5 lforum link.... must be the oldest thread revival ever.... but the content is great !!

On the equalizer settings with DSP... please start with step 1....

Step 1 is the TONE controls: I like mine at zero, but you should only use these to vary the sound depending on the source, Radio, CD, cassette... once you have set the EQ.

Step 2: Try this as your base. It was done by a fellow who measured his car interior with a "pink noise generator" to achieve the flattest, most even frequency curve. This is what you when listening to music. Minimal coloration.

Here are the results:

With TONE and DSP sliders to Center/"0" position, the M5's sound system generated too much energy at (Hz) 30, 80 and 120, and not enough at 480 Hz and way too much at 1 Khz. Above 1 kHz the frequency response was generally low.

On the DSP EQ, the following settings generated an almost even (flat) distribution. Almost because, hey it's a car not a sound studio!

80: 0
200: -2
500: +4
1K: -7
2K: +3
5k: +5
12k: +5

Room and Echo : 0 (This is a personal preference. Myself, I hate adding something the "band or artist" didn't add themselves)

TONE controls: I like mine at zero, but you should only use these to vary the sound depending on the source, Radio, CD, cassette... once you have set the EQ.

Give it a shot, and tell me what you think....

My comment: Well, I think its just right, THANK YOU !!
