Not sure which variant you have, but mine being a 2008 is extremely straightforward.

1. Remove grill (3 screws).
2. x4 crosshead sleeved bolts behind the grill secure the top of the bumper.
3. x1 bolt (10mm I think) each wheel arch in front of the wheel at the bottom securing the end of the lower strip at each side.
4. Remove towing eye cover (unclips)
5. x1 bolt each side of the towing eye (again 10mm) securing the other ends of the lower strips, then x4 crosshead screws (I think) holding the rest of the lower strips on.
6. x2 crosshead sleeved bolts below the number plate holder same as the four in step 2.
7. Both sides of the bumper slide forward off brackets attached to the lower front wings (beware of the wiring going to driving lamps and parking sensors - you don't get a lot of leeway and the water pipe to the headlight jets).
8. Have a blanket or something to put the bumper onto once disconnected.

Easy-peasy Thumbs Up

Edit: should also say, to remove completely you'll need to disconnect the water pipes if fitted. I found it easier to disconnect the pipe straight from the tank than try and remove the pipes bumper-end. Cam

Thanks Cam & OP! I posted this in the L405 section but it looks like it came came
out in L322. I sold my 2011 L322 in April and picked up the 2016 L405. The L405 front bumper looks like it might come off a little easier than the L322. I am having a body/paint shop do it that has an excellent painter, but they do mostly insurance claim work so I am concerned about it being taken off and put back correctly. Sometimes they break a clip and just use double sided tape to re- attach. If it comes off fairly straight forward I am probably ok, which is why I was asking. Thanks again for your replies! Mike

In that case Mike,
Remove grille and you will find 4 bolts in the top of the bumper, EASY
Take off the toweye cover and you will find 4 more, EASY
Take off the front inner fender splash guards (3 grommets and a few screws) EASY
Then loosen 2 10mm bolts, pinching the wing & bumper together either side, A LITTLE MORE TRICKY!
There are two hidden cross head screws into the top corner of each headlamp EASY (when you know where they are)
Unplug wiring and two washer tubes and โ€œVoilaโ€ the bumper is ready to remove...

Refitting, make sure they masking take up the headlamp faces as itโ€™s super easy to scratch them with the bumper ๐Ÿ‘
