Cleaning 22inch Turbines

I love my 22 inch turbines, but for the love of god they are such a pain in the a$$ to clean with so many spokes
Sponges, mits, soft brushes - all equally slow painful and laborious Wink

Anyone get any ingenious ways / tools / mods to clean them ? (taking it to car wash / valeters - not allowed! Laughing )

My usual flippant answer is that you only need to clean the silver face to make them look clean enough Thumbs Up

Back when I gave a Censored , I took them off, cleaned them thoroughly with chemicals and clay bars, then 3 coats of poor boys wheel sealant stuff - that seemed to make them much easier to clean as brake dust didn’t stick to them so well.

Use a fallout remover spray, auto finesse iron out is good, but stinks like cats pi$$. Use it every time, plus seal your wheels every so often with a decent wax, makes the process so much easier 👍

I find them very easy to clean - no worse than any other alloy - I use one of these :-

If the car needs a clean, I normally do the wheels with a Halfords 'bug removal' sponge which squashes very small without falling apart as it's enclosed in a fabric net. In between washes I put on one of the wifes old marigolds, nick one of her tea towells and do a dry clean which takes no time at all. She often wonders why she can't find her right hand glove Laughing

I made this from a humble WC brush. It works very well,

I use 'Wheel Woolies'. They reach inside the wheel as well.

I use this as well, yes plenty of spokes and so repetition, but 5 mins/wheel max does it. I don't mind because I like the wheels and they look better
clean Thumbs Up
