4.4 tdv8 oil level indicator.

When I try to check oil level display says not available.
Any clues where to start looking?

Thanks Stan Panic over.

I have to drive to my local Tesco car park to find somewhere flat to check the oil level.

I obviously didn't leave it standing long enough before checking oil level. (Must need at least 10 minutes)

Just re- checked and all OK.

It shouldn't give a reading at all if it is not ready? It takes at leased 10 minutes.

3 years on from the original post and we are all older and wiser Rolling with laughter
You can check oil level cold, ie before starting engine... and hot, but you have to either wait 10-15 minutes after stopping engine, or open bonnet and double press the cruise control reset on the steering wheel whist display is showing “ not available”
