Spain 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Baltic Blue

We live near Alicante but last week popped up to France, Biarritz and then La Rochelle to see both sets of parents, 3,000 km round trip in 5 days.

All depends on what you want. I find much of France is very similar ‘looking’ to the U.K. - very green and beautiful. The border region around San Sebastián ish area is lovely and the mountain area incredibly beautiful.

To see ‘different’ scenery head to the French Riviera...Nice or Cann area etc or better deeper in Spain...biased perhaps!

We also nipped over to Ibiza in August in the RR, which was amazing - two hour crossing from Dénia and absolutely worth it. Beaches are heaven. Longer than a weekend away but sooo worth it. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Thanks for the tips on destinations. Perhaps something simple for the first time (I did it a couple of times years ago but it’s been a while - drive in US regularly). The hotel suggestions with sensible parking is very valuable tips.

I’d love to do get as far as Spain and get through mountains. Maybe even down to Morocco one day. (The l405 launch there inspired me).

Start small and build.

You'll need a few weeks to enjoy it IMHO

I regularly do Bordeaux in one hit, but it's a fairly tiring day of solid driving - not sure I'd be too keen to get up in the morning and do the same again - and then again to get to Morocco.......
