3.0 V6 Hybrid Fullfat

Dies anyone have any knowledge of the hybrid 3.0 2016 FFRR? Seems like the hybrid system does not give much range at all. The road tax is slightly cheaper but not by much. Is it worth carrying the extra weight of the batteries around. Please note I am not talking about the P400 plug in hybrid. I am talking about the first generation hybrid with 3.0 diesel.

Is it a lame duck ?

Yes I have this car , its only a mild hybrid .It assists in part throttle giving extra torque and it can run for short trips on the level under 40 mph on battery power only . It comes into its own in stop / start traffic . treat it like a "huge" stop / start system . There are two versions , 1st version up to August 2015 and 2nd version from September 2015 onward with the later one offering more power , lower co2 and lower toad tax . Check out the red one near you , they have put the rear wheels on back to front . look at the pictures on the LR approved website !

Hi Charlie, thanks for the info. Is it worth having? or is a 4.4 better?

2018 LWB S350 CDI, Had it from new, lovely car, very smooth, packed with technology, the headlamps are amazing, the high beam assist follows the car in front and cuts a black hole around it, so you can keep the high beam on.

Drove it to the south of france on the bank holiday, amazing drive, I will miss it.

Mrs wants a LR so hence my looking at an SE first and now an AB. She is used to 360camera and massage seats in the merc.

I am going to miss the laser LED headlights, but I dont want to spend more than 45K. So a 2016 AB it is!

United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green

Having done 64,000 miles in the 4.4 in the 23 months that I’ve owned it and now having a 19 plate, 4,000 mile old V6 Disco 5 for a couple of days, I’m surprised that the V6 is no where near as smooth as I remember it being - oddly its a little rough after the SDV8 Shocked

Never tried a V6 hybrid though...

I have had the SDV8 4.4, 5.0 supercharged, and now have the SDV6 Hybrid, i am very impressed, its not supercharged quick, but its as good if not better than the 4.4, if you want power then you can run in sport mode and it uses both the electric motor and diesel engine, i would say its a little but not much quicker than the 4.4...
S/C is another league thou, but for our use the hybrid has been very impressive, but do go for the later model with more power, SDV6, low tax etc...
