Radio does not turn on

Hi

I understand this is a common fault with the l322. I have an 02 plate. The radio will now not turn on, which also means I cannot select CD player or cassette. Everything else with the display works fine including sat nav, although no sound and television turns on but is muted.

I've taken out and stripped the dsp amplifier unit. It was not wet but looks like it was a t some point however there was no corrosion.
I cleaned it up, put it back, checked connectors which all looked good. Still no radio. No fuses blown.

I'm guessing the dsp has had it but could it be anything else and is there a way of finding out if there is power to the dsp?

Oh no. That isn't very reassuring. Did you replace the dsp or the tuner? I haven't taken a look at the tuner yet, it's raining bad again here.

The DSP isn’t an amp, it’s just a signal processor and crossover. The BM54 radio is the amp. That’s the silver unit lower down in the boot area, but you prob know where it is.

If you get DSP on your screen in white, then that unit is identifying itself on the ibus so is at least powered up.

Mine does it every so often but then comes good after a vehicle shut down/restart. Ron B. VK2OTC

No dsp at all on the screen.

My replacement dsp unit finally arrived. Plugged it in and...nothing. not a god damn thing. I shall try disconnecting the battery tomorrow and hopefully that might reset the system somehow.

It happened again and I found it wasn't off but for some reason the volume was turned right down. I kept my finger on the volume up button on the steering wheel and it slowly increased in volume back to normal. That's happened a couple of times. Ron B. VK2OTC

So I've tried a hard reset twice on the car today trying both dsp units and nothing. Tested it's getting a constant power but not switched power. I think the fault is with the radio tuner, the unit with the small 10amp fuse. So I have ordered a replacement and see what happens then.

An update.

Bought a replacement bm54 unit which I believe is the radio tuner and also sends power to the dsp. Bingo! We're back in business. From reading about there are components within the bm54 that burn out over time. This is what happened to mine because there was no evidence of water damage.

I now have a replacement dsp unit for sale and I've checked it's working on my car.
