It does look very 'American'

Just goes to show that the days of the combustion engine are numbered though.

So that’s at least two people that have completely missed the point about illustrating the argument that JLR aren’t completely behind the times by quoting the ultra competitive i Pace Wink Thumbs Up

Red Merle, its not a case of missing the point. The I Pace, as good as it is, connot and never will be a challenge for a Range Rover.
It plays at being an off roader like BMW X3, 5 , 6 etc and hundreds of others like them.
The Rivian is a genuine off roader which was the point of the post. We are after all on a Range Rover forum Whistle 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Apart from the front end being pretty ugly that would be a pick up I’d seriously consider. Excellent range, clever use of space and very impressive towing capabilities. Rivian could be a game changer!

Also, iPace only 292 miles range (vs 410+), 0-60 only 4.5 secs (vs 3secs), starting price £60K (vs £61K), wouldn't want to take that off road, but might leave it in a ploughed field Wink .

But don’t forget in the interview the chap did say the base model was 61K.....then mentioned later the higher power models, I seriously do not believe the base model will give anywhere near 400 miles, not for that price, battery costs are all supplier controlled presently. David

I’ll say it just the one last time and move on - I was talking about JLR’s ability to produce electrical vehicles in general, rather than comparing the off road capabilities of an I Pace with either a Fatty, or this odd ball fusion of a Nissan Navara pick up and Gort Wink Laughing

Besides, I’m sure that the Gort’s claim to maximum range will be about as achievable as anything either JLR, Tesla or any other electrical vehicle manufacturer comes up with Wink

They hide it well, but the range of the base model Rivian at £62K is 230 miles....... David

Only 292 (in reality nearer 220-240) is bigger than most bladders / breaks between meals. In 11 months of I-pace ownership I’ve only needed to charge on the go once. The rest of the time I have charged either at home or at destination chargers.

WARNING! DO NOT TEST DRIVE AN EV. Internal combustion engines will never step up to the mark again. Wink Gone D3

^there will come a time when she won't make it! battery degradation and all.

Have to say though the Jag is epic, My oppos swmbo has got one and it is rapid. It also has the same sort of terrain response as the LR products and air suspension to jack it up for some mild off roading. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
