2007 Glove box woes!!

Hi all. Yesterday my 2007 TDV8 refused to allow me to open both top and lower glove boxes. They both are locked and the button doesn't respond to pressing or banging gently. Any ideas please?

Do you have the workshop manual, it is online i'm sure. It should give you all the details on the glove box. I remember pulling mine apart but that is very very long ago. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

You need a new glove box switch. Around £90. Easy to pull out and push new one in.
BUT... the switch is a module and will need diagnostics to program it to the car. Mine burnt out and I bought a new switch and it didnt work.
Only when the car was connected to diagnostics to program a new key a few months later it started working. Shocked

The bottom half of my glovebox wouldn’t open. Replaced the switch twice and it burnt out twice Censored

I haven’t replaced it again, instead I just extended the wires to the solenoid and apply 12v to open it, on the rare occasions I need to. Not the most elegant solution but it beats having a big hole where it sits, because you can’t get it open otherwise. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
