OK, I just get a bit bored of the LPG comments escecially in relation to the S/C.

my comments are tongue firmly in cheek

actually i've driven supercharged in both FF and Sport - and yes great in a straight line but the laws of physics restrict you when it comes to undulating, twisty country roads

Of course, though when I first drove an S/C I the first time I went round a roundabout, I thought, 'Wow, is this a Range Rover!'

I would not recommend anybody to convert a car under Land Rover warranty on the basis that it immediately voids the warranty. Also if you have the budget to purchase a TDV8, it makes a good alternative to converting an S/C to LPG. Almost as good economy, and not too much slower!

yes, the cayenne does lack the 'comfort' but it drives as a typical porsche - something i love

its an out and out drivers car - you get out of it what you put in!

but in overall terms as i said the FFRR beats it hands down

Sorry Nick but I know my Porsche's and I think the Cayenne doesn't drive like a Porsche nor does it look like one.
It is fast and disguises its weight pretty well but don't say it drives like a proper Porsche as it doesn't!
The Cayenne appeals more to people who don't know what makes a proper Porsche, a bit like people who buy the Evoque thinking they are buying a Range Rover.
The Evoque will probably be a very good car in its own right but it will never be a Range Rover!
They should have called it the Land Rover Evoque but then again is it a proper Land Rover?

I think you can modernise an icon and keep the spirit, like the 911 and proper Range Rover.

The good thing about the Cayenne and Panamera is that they are cash cows which enable Porsche to make the cars we like, the proper Porsche's!

Let us hope Land Rover will use the cash made from the Evoque to serve us with a proper Range Rover to replace the current one which will prove very difficult to replace!

Has anybody dealt with or heard of any dealings with these guys?

Still undecided as to whether to go S/C (heart) or TDV8 (head). Even though I will be doing fairly low miles, with predicted petrol prices to hit as much as £9 a gallon, it does not bode well for petrol cars of this type.

What do you reckon - head or heart?

Incidentally, this car would qualify for a LR Approved Warranty based on current age and mileage. Would this be worth paying for (subject to said car passing inspection) for 1 year's peace of mind?

I would say that car must be worth a look.

With regard to your point about petrol vs diesel, I'd say if it's depreciation you're thinking about, then if petrol or diesel end up sky high, you'll be on either fuel with a FFRR. However I expect things will blow over, prices will come back down, and hopefully in the meantime we'll have a fuel price stabiliser mechanism in the budget nest month.

So IMHO, don't worry too much about the fuel, just get the best car you can.

Only thing about the one you've found is that it's very nearly a 2007 model, but not quite, but on the other hand, if it was, it might be up for another couple of grand! 2012 SDV8 Vogue SE
