IID tool: problems with leaving the menu after displaying..

Hello,

I am happy with my new IID tool since a month.
Only problem so far is:

When I finished to view the recorded live values in the graphical presentation
and then to return to the main menu again (for example to select new values)
I press the "End" button -- nothing happens (as shown on the picture below).
The application is like frozen.

So far the only way is a 'hard exit' and to Switch my iPhone 7 (iOS 12.4.1) off/on again.

Viewing just the metric data/numbers is and then return zo the main menu is no problem at all.

Maybe there is a better way to return to the main menu?

best regards
Gunnar

Gunnar,

There should be a command "Back" in blue at the top left of the screen. If not come out of the graph view adn go to figures.

Unnecessary quote removed

I have very similar issues, IID only a few weeks old and with latest firmware. If I look at live values in graph format there is NO way back other than a reinstallation of the firmware!! If I disconnect wait an hour and reconnect, once the IID and mobile device link the display is still stuck locked on the graph. Big Cry

Nothing on the screen allows me to get out of the graphical display. I am still learning about this tool so it may just me Embarassed but I have similar issues as the OP.

In addition my IID does not send anything to the cars display so I have to use a Bluetooth mobile device (iPad mini). 2010 Range Rover TDV8 Baltic Blue Autobiography (2011 MY) - SOLD Sad

Toby,

Having the Bluetooth version means exactly that -- you don't get a display to the vehicle :O Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Bushy30,

Thanks for the confirmation.

When looking at section 1.7.3 of the IID manual I did note that it said about the vehicle integrated interface for my 2011MY "L322-10, unstable in such vehicles as the function to write on the dashboard screen has not been completed by Land Rover. Can be used in emergencies.". This made me think is was available albeit unstable and perhaps only to be used in emergencies.

Also section 2.4.2 said about "Installing the Integrated Interface - No installation operation is required. The interface will be accessible automatically when connecting the tool to the vehicles OBDII connector." So again I thought it would connect to the car, but I guess that was referring to the IID rather than the IDD BT. Whistle 2010 Range Rover TDV8 Baltic Blue Autobiography (2011 MY) - SOLD Sad

I have this „Back“-button as it appears on your snapshot - but only for the numeric presentation as you show, too.
Unfortunately I don‘t get that button when I start the graphical analysis ...

Same here, seems to be a fault with the IID's programming. Not an issue IF we knew how to reset things once the IID gets stuck like this. 2010 Range Rover TDV8 Baltic Blue Autobiography (2011 MY) - SOLD Sad

I may be completely wrong and often told I am, but

When I use the graphic display for logs , like you, I do not have the back or return icon on the IID screen. All I do is use the phone's return or previous screen icon at the bottom of the phone screen, as you would in moving back to the previous screen in a browser. Running Android whatever on a Samsung something.

Hope it helps.

If that's not quite right for you, contact Patrick at GAP and ask for assistance, they are very good at customer care. Don't expect an immediate answer, they be in Canada and be getting let out at weekends. Cheers

Riff, that sound like a good workaround for those running the app on a smartphone.

Unfortunately for me, my company's work smartphone allowed me to download the app but not to run it. Big Cry So I am using an old iPad mini which I do not think has the same "previous screen" option, but I will now go and check over the weekend! Thanks, and perhaps if your company IT wallers are OK they may allow the app to run if you grovel nicely and good luck with the old iPad mini. I still think Patrick may be a help on this.

I purchased a tablet only to find it would not run the GAP software, talked to Patrick and he was at that time unable to assist as the tablet would not recognise the GAP app. So neighbour lent me the Samsung, then said keep it, big result. Lo and behold, sometime later my tablet informed me that GAP had updated their app and it now works. Great Razz

Thanks.
I use an iPhone but luckily found out how it works .
Need to touch the screen for a second and then the „back“ button appears.

Thanks for your support
