Hi all, first post as I'm on my first month of my first RR

I have the 2005 Autobiography with RSE. The 3.5mm AUX input accessible from the rear seats under a small retracting cover came with a broken plug stuck inside. I wasn't able to pull it out while mounted in the car, so I think I need to remove the whole panel for surgery at home. Any tips on how to do it? I could only find videos about removing the upper panel right where the cubby hinge is, but nothing on the bottom part; hopefully there's a way to do it without dismantling the whole center console?

Actually it's a bit different in a 2005 model. There are two screws at the bottom of the rear console cover that I didn't notice yesterday when looking at this with just a flashlight after dark.

push both front seats all the way forward, makes life alot easier.

had to have mine apart to clean up the drink my son spilt in it.

The "two screws" haven't been screws at all, but plastic fasteners. Apart from that, some careful wiggling of the panel allowed to remove it.

Next, two electrical connectors needed to be removed and I took the whole panel home.
The connector module was mounted using three Torx screw, then there was internal electrical module - another three Torx screws. After removing it and unscrewing another two Torx screws (all different sizes for some reason) holding internal circuit boards, and prying some small plastic latches, the boards could be finally removed.

I thought I'll need to unsolder the 3.5mm socket because it was a closed kind with no access to remove the plug from the side, but I managed to pull the part of the plug by drilling it with a small PCB bit and pulling on the bit, and then the remaining fragment came out after squeezing and leveraging with some precision metal shears of this type: https://www.modellingtools.co.uk/xuron-pro...0948-p.asp (tweezers didn't have enough hold).

im now jealous your SC was a quick fix...

mine not so much the heads are currently sat on the work bench....
