L322 2005 TD6 Digital (hybrid) TV Tuner for touch screen

Re posted in in car electronics. Apologies

Any TV experts around please?

Just replaced my analogue tuner with a hybrid one XRA500180 and it went pop in a puff of smoke, guy I got it from assured me it was working cos he'd been watching it and it had been stored in a dry container after removal. From what I have read the XRA500060 was replaced by: XRA500070 which was replaced by XRA500180 and also used in RR sport. Can anyone please confirm if it is compatible and that the wiring is the same?

Many thanks

Brian

AH42-19CO63-AE works in my 2005 (2006 MY). Think it came out of an RR Sport.

GDM, It looks similar but it has a square green connector that I don't have on mine.

if all the connections are the same colour and shape on the unit and the plugs match colour and shape it should just be plug and play. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

That's what I thought. I need to find out if the wiring for the FFRR is the same as the Sport or if the +ve and -ve are reversed?

I have been doing lots of reading up so have a good idea what part numbers should and shouldn't work.

When I changed my FFRR tuner over I bought from a guy on D3 forum and he was selling jag/LR hybrid tuners with epg on and it was plug and play, so I assume all the plugs are the same! But as I said if the colour and shape are the same it should work Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Just to clarify, Is the 2005 FFRR and 2007 Sport TV tuner wiring the same or are the +ve/-ve reversed, on different pins etc?

Cheers.

Sorry Stu the replys are a bit out of sync. I read loads of stuff on the D3 forum, lot's of great posts by Wiggs who I assume you got yours from. I agree with you that it should be plug and play and that the one I got was just a faulty unit, hence the puff of blue smoke.

As this is a common question I thought I would try and get a list of what will and won't work. This is what I have found from the threads I have read.

AH42-19CO63-A* All variants work
UH42-19CO63-BB Should work but mine blew up?
AW93-14F641-AE Don't work

Wiggs isn't far from me, I emailed him a few days ago but he hasn't replied yet, I was on his website a couple of weeks ago regarding the Bluetooth module but it said he was away until 8th Nov.

I am pretty sure I didn't have a lead to go into the square green socket either but it works fine.

Thanks GDM, I found something from Wiggs on the D3 forum that said he didn't know either so I won't worry about that. Cheers
