United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover SE TDV8 Barolo Black
dash illumination - all dead

hi

new here

FFRR 2007 TDV8

owned for 6 months, done all the usual bits, gear box flushed (work well), discs/pads, susspension bushes, reverse camera etc etc. now all good

yesterday, whilst driving in the dark the dash and all the dim able indicators went dark.

Am I being silly is there a control or option I have missed (read the owners manual no referance only the dimmer control)

moved the dimmer control, the backlight to the display dims - so the dimmer control its self is probably working

check fuses (1, 44 & 45 ?) all look good - may disconnect the battery and try changes each of the fuses, just may be a dicky fuse (if only)

it seems the dash illumination may be from the Lighting control unit (LCM) (mounted near the bonet release catch ?), may be the dimming is achieved on that controller, maybe PWM and a FET ? - does any one know ?

is there a wiring diagrams for my car ?

Im quite happy for the dash lights to be fully on, or fully one when the sidelights are on - perhaps I can hard wire to a switched +12v - any thoughts ?

could it be a sign of a tired alternator ? - no other symptoms - what should I look for ?

any help greatly appreciated

thanks

ian
