Turn off the lazy entry (or similar words - lol) for the steering wheel via a GAP iiD tool or disconnect the electrical connector for the raise / lower motor (under the flexible shroud) after getting it to a reasonable position. You've then got time to decide when / if to fix the well known issue. Paul,
