England 2015 Range Rover SVAutobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

I can understand the Scotlandish members driving south to buy rust free cars but why on earth would someone travel from London to Edinburgh to buy a "rustler i3?" Then have all the hassle of driving home 100miles a charge! Nuts...

A Trap

I am happy to travel any distance for the right car but only if I am looking for some outside of warranty and private, if still in warranty and a dealer sell I would need it to be with in 100 miles so it can go back if local dealer won’t approve any warranty claims. The dealer relationship needs to be protected... it pains me to say this as all dealers should work the same way and honor the warranty transparently whether they sold it or not.

It's got the scooter engine. I mean range extender.

But still.. Shocked Cheers, Greg

From my experience its worth travelling any distance for the right car they only issue is how honest the seller is with their description

I don't mind them but personally I wouldn't go very far for an i3.

The right Range Rover? Definitely!
.

I went 250 miles to get my i3, it has the mid sized battery and Rex, the return journey was easy, 1 coffee stop to fill up free of charge and I was home. The range extender is a small twin cylinder engine but a) you dont know its running except for the fuel gauge changing colour and b) the performance is unaltered - it's bloody quick. Great car and shames Land Rover and their quality. Old fatty I travelled around to see them, longest trip 380 miles to see one that was not as described, eventually bought one from 75 miles away. BMW i3 Electric Car

Thankfully I only had to travel 57 miles to a dealer who had an example of each car I wanted to look at. I decided on a FF AB and one in the right colour at the right price. I would have travelled a lot further to get the right car. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I’d travel for the right car, but both my fatties came from my usual dealer, who knowing what I like let me know the ‘right’ car was coming in. My only worry about travelling to say Inverness is that when you got there, the car would disappoint and it’s a long way home.

I've probably gone to the other extreme.
Bought my Fullfat from local village independent car dealer - less than 1km away (I know as I run past the showroom most days Smile )

In fact the day I picked it up I had to then go out of my way to give it a good drive out to ensue it got warmed up - as not sure the 2 minute drive home would have done it any good Rolling with laughter Current

I’ve no experience with the i3 but I’ve driven a good few other electric cars and honestly really like them, I will be looking at a used Model 3 Performance once they’ve reached a more affordable level in 3 or so years time.

I think I have everyone beat!

On Monday I flew 10 states from Los Angeles to Atlanta and bought an SVO spectral blue Chromaflair 2020 and then drove 2200 miles 10 states in 2.5 days back to Los Angeles. Because the car had every option lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control it was a pretty easy drive!
