I thought he came over very well and reminded me a bit of Larry Lamb. There were a couple of errors regards the images for the Lazer Pixel lights being the Xenons etc but he was without any question completely encyclopedic. It was generally brochure interpretation but very well delivered. The honest appraisal of 25mpg for the P400e makes the SDV8 seem to be the cheaper option regards running costs until Boris goes full out diesel bashing. You have to ask where they think all this environmental pish is going. The strategy is so screwed considering you won't be able to buy a petrol, diesel or hybrid in 15 years time. None of the manufacturers have come up with anything close to comparable to diesel/petrol. Tesler who kicked this off (if you discount the G-Wizz) only boast 300 miles before you need to take a 3 hour break to refuel. Not very good if you tow anything like a caravan or heavy trailer. Reduced mileage and nowhere to recharge. It's all so poorly thought out that I can see the internal combustion engine lasting a whole lot longer. As for keeping classic cars, that's another story!

There was a panorama program on a week or two back about 'smart' motorways.

Following on from that I read that electric cars may not be able to use smart motorways as if they break down (or run out of charge) they cannot be flat towed more than 800 metres and some cannot be flat towed at all. This is according to AA boss Edmund King.

He also said that in autonomous cars if the driver falls asleep the car is supposed to pull over onto a refuge area which would be impossible on smart motorways which have few refuge areas.

I suppose the solution would be to expand the Smart motorways with a hard shoulder.........

..or the most obvious and less costly solution would be to have more refuge areas... ... - .- -.

Ar5e and elbow differential seems to be the issue. There are, as ever loads of experts who have no idea what they’re talking about but have gone ahead and made grand sweeping statements which are backed up by the best fairy dust our money can buy. I don’t normally watch the news or so called informative programmes as I feel they include so much spin you end up questioning the hidden agenda they’re trying to brainwash you with. Dare I say”fake news”!
When scientists are asking for the raw data regarding the so called environmental issues and can only get adjusted info, you have to suspect someone is on a right good little earner. Don’t trust them, they’re not doing it for you, only themselves. Censored
Anyway, not winding myself up any more over all this twaddle.
