16mpg average- is it time to demap?

I'm getting a little tired of seeing this mpg. Most days to work and back I see 13 to 15. I might as well have bought a petrol V8!

I'm thinking about taking the map off it. I have no idea who's map it is, as it was done by a previous owner. The best I've seen is 28 on a motorway with the cruise controil set to 56mph. If I tow, it drops to around 13.

My old TD6 was better than this on diesel. I'm wondering if the map is to blame. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

He was the one who told me it had been remapped. He very kindly came out and checked it for me. Neither he or BAS could say who’s map it was though. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Yes. Pete has added a standard map to the IID tool updater so I just need to install it (gulp) he did say I would lose the digital EGR delete which I expected. However they are blanked off so should be ok 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

My only worry is the EML coming on. Pete said it might. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I've a dodgy Map in Rosie- its mainly for EGR deletion, as they were playing up when we brought her. I get 18/19 mpg to and from work- and around 25-28 on the motorway when pushing the law. I know its not all about MPG- but i do wonder if i can get early 20's/early 30's if she was Mapped properly. A few people have recommended Quantum Tuning? Welcome Rosie J - The Newer Kid on the Block

If you mean because the EGRs are blanked off, if it is any help mine were blanked off a few months ago and there are no lights showing.

Using the mpg readout, which is, granted, optimistic, since then I am showing 29/30 running about mainly rural with some town work. Last month on a run to UK on motorway cruising at 70mph it was showing 30/31. As I said, I know that is optimistic but still much better than you are showing.

Have you reset the trip to see if there is any effect as the read out is an running averaging? John
